Installation/Coordination of Real-Time Location Display Socket Object (Beta)

Set up the beacon terminal and install the location information display socket object. This function is scheduled to be available as a paid option from July 2023 , but you can try the beta version for free now.

 

What is a Location Information Display Socket?

This is a function that links the user's current location in real offices, event venues, and ovice spaces. To get started, you need to do the following:

1. Preparation, setting and installation of beacon terminals

2. Installation of location information display socket object

3. Installation of ovice Go by each user

This is provided as a paid option for the following plans:

Beacon Terminal Settings

1. Device preparation

You need to prepare your own Bluetooth beacon terminal.

Required Specs
  • Must be Bluetooth enabled (iBeacon)
  • It is possible to set UUID, Major, Minor

2. Device settings

For Aplix products

Please refer to this and follow the steps below.

  • Download the instruction manual
  • Register MyBeacon Administrator Account
  • Get administrator information (MyBeaconID)
  • Configure MyBeacon


For Sanwa Supply products

Please refer to here for setting.

*The UUID/Major/Minor information that you check and change in MyBeacon settings will be used for setting objects in ovice later.

 

3. Terminal installation

Install beacon terminals in offices, event venues, etc.

 

Placement of Objects

1.   Refer to Space Object Installation and set basic items

* Select "Position information display socket" for the type of space object.

2. Enter the UUID set on the beacon terminal application in "UUID"

3. Enter the major value set on the beacon terminal application in "Major Version" in decimal number.

4. Enter the minor number set on the beacon terminal application in "Minor Version" in decimal

5. Select the avatar display method when a beacon is detected in "Action" and click "Save"

Display around set coordinates Displays avatars near objects semi-transparently so that they do not overlap.
Display at set coordinates A semi-transparent avatar is displayed at the position where the object is placed.
Leave Seat Makes the avatar on the space leave.
When a beacon other than Away/Hide is detected, the avatar will reappear in the space in a translucent state.
*The same action is performed no matter where the object is placed.
Hidden Hide avatar on space.
When a beacon other than Away/Hide is detected, the avatar will reappear in the space in a translucent state.
*The same action is performed no matter where the object is placed.

 

*The location information display socket is not displayed on the space.

 

Use of Location Display Socket

Each user must install ovice Go to use the location information display socket. Users who want to link their current locations with real offices, event venues, and spaces must install ovice Go.

FAQ

Do I need to install ovice Go?

Yes. Installation of ovice Go is required to use the beacon terminal as a transmitter and ovice Go as a receiver.

 

Should the space layout match the actual office?

Although it is not required, it is recommended to display on the layout which area of ​​the actual office, such as "Office A", "Office B", and "Lounge", where the beacon is installed.

 

Are there any differences in functionality between beacon manufacturers and products?

There is no functional difference in this service.

 

How many minutes will the avatar be displayed after the beacon was last detected?

As soon as the beacon is no longer detected, the avatar disappears from the space.

 

What is the power consumption of smartphones with ovice Go installed via beacon linkage?

ovice Go has to run in the background, which consumes about 10-15% per day.
The above figures are not guaranteed, as they may vary depending on the OS, device, and usage conditions.
