Thank you for your continued support of ovice.
We're happy to announce that, we have completed our update to support the new internet protocol, IPv6, which we previously notified you about (see announcement here). This upgrade will enable you to connect to ovice from a more diverse range of network environments.
With this update, we have an important request for administrators who use the "White/Black List" feature: please review and update your settings.
Please note: If you are not using this feature, no action is required on your part. You can continue to use ovice as usual.
Important Information Regarding the the Allow/Block List Feature with IPv6 Support
Following this update, depending on your network environment, your connection to ovice may be identified by a new IPv6 address.
With your current settings, the following issues may occur:
- For Manage Space Access Settings: If your list only includes IPv4 addresses, members trying to connect via IPv6 will be blocked and unable to access your space.
- For Manage User Access Restrictions: If you are blocking specific IPv4 addresses, individuals using an IPv6 connection may be able to bypass the block and gain access.
To prevent these issues, please follow the steps below to add the necessary IPv6 addresses to your settings.
■ Instructions
Step 1: Identify Your IPv6 Address
First, you'll need to identify the IPv6 address(es) used by your network. If you are managing access from a specific location, like your corporate office, please check the network settings there. If you're not sure how to find this, we recommend contacting your company's IT department.
Step 2: Add the IPv6 Address to Your ovice Settings
Add the IPv6 address(es) you identified in Step 1 to your Allow List or Block List in ovice. You can find detailed instructions in the following help articles:
- Manage Space Access Settings
- Manage User Access Restrictions
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact ovice Customer Support.
Thank you for your cooperation.
