Create a Livestream Static Object

The Livestream Static Object is a great way to broadcast a live performance, presentation, or event to users in your oVice Space - and beyond. The Livestream Static Object generates a streaming link for the presenter, and users simply connect to the object to view.

Access your Static Objects Manager

Access the Static Object Manager in the Space Settings Menu:  Space Settings > Setting > Static Object in the Main (Hamburger) Menu.

Set the Range of the Embedded Content Static Object

Choose how far the reach of the Object extends by setting the range. Any workspace user's Avatar that comes within the set range will experience the Object's Sub-Canvas Window opening and will be shown the content.

Within the Object's Sub-Canvas, click on the numerical drop-down to adjust the range (indicated by the Object's surrounding gray circle).

Editing Your LiveStream

You can view your new LiveStream Static Object in the Static Objects table, located just below the builder. Edit or Disable/Enable as needed.

What the User Experiences in the Space

All users in the workspace will be able to view the livestream once within range. The Object's Sub-Canvas Window will automatically open on their screen, and they will be shown the live stream. Like all Sub-Canvas Windows, the window may be minimized or maximized, resized (grab and drag any corner), and moved around the screen (click and drag).

In this example, because the User Authority is set to Member, only users with Member or Admin user roles will be able to connect to the LiveStream Object for optimal audio and video stability.  For more open access, be sure to set the User Authority to Visitor during setup.
