Local AI is AI that runs only on your computer in the desktop app. What you enter and the AI's answers are processed on your computer and are not sent to external AI services. Local AI does not use PASS.

Use Local AI
1. In the desktop app, open User Settings > "Desktop App" > "Local MyAI models"
2. Download the model you want to use
3. When the download is complete, click "Use this model"
4. In the model selector of My AI, select "Gemma 4" (labeled as local and not requiring PASS)
For models whose memory requirements your device does not meet, "Not available on this device. At least ○ GB of memory is required." is shown, and you cannot download the model or click "Use this model." If such a model was already downloaded, you can only delete it.
Local AI uses a lot of your device's memory (approx. 6 GB for Gemma 2B and approx. 8 GB for Gemma 4B). If many other apps are open, your device may slow down or stop responding. Before using it for the first time, save your work and close apps you are not using.
If "Update the desktop app to use Local MyAI." is shown, update the desktop app to the latest version.
To download a model, you need free space equal to the model size (approx. 7 GB for 4B and approx. 5 GB for 2B) plus 2 GB.
Your conversation history appears under "On this device" [要確認：画面表記] in the My AI sidebar. The history is saved only on that computer.
The speed and quality of answers depend on your computer's performance.
Delete a Model
You can delete a downloaded model with "Delete model" on the same screen. If you delete the selected model, you cannot use Local AI chat or translation until you select another model (your chat history and settings are kept).
If Your Device Slows Down
If your device slows down while you are using Local AI, stop using it. After any chat or translation in progress finishes, click "Delete model" for the selected model.
Translation
With Local AI, you can translate text copied on your computer, including text from apps other than ovice. Translation is also processed only on your computer and does not use PASS. Japanese, English, and Korean are supported.
Turn On Translation
1. Select a model by following steps 1 to 3 in "Use Local AI" above
2. Turn on "Translation" in User Settings > "Desktop App" (default: off)
3. You can use translation while a space is open in the desktop app

The translation appears in the panel. Click "Copy" to copy it.
Text longer than 2,048 characters cannot be translated.
You can change the target language and tone (Standard / Polite / Casual) in "Translation settings" or in the panel.
Your 50 most recent translations are encrypted and saved only on this computer. You can check and delete them from "View history" in "Translation settings."
Tips
- If the "My AI" menu is hidden in Organization Settings > "AI Management" > "Feature Management," you can still download Local AI models, but you cannot use Local AI chat because My AI cannot be opened.
The number of times Local AI is used (number of chat answers and translations) is recorded in the organization's Insights, without the content.
The model stops after one hour of inactivity, so the first translation after that takes longer.
Model downloads are never stopped automatically. A model whose download you stopped with "Cancel download" is shown as "Not downloaded," and you can download it again with "Download."
