Preventing Audio Echoing/Feedback

If you experience echo or feedback during a call, try the following:

  1. If you have ovice open in another window
    • Close all other windows accessing the space, including desktop apps and browsers.
    • If you need to access more than one space at the same time, turn on the microphone in only one space.
  2. Check your audio settings
    • Turn on Auto Volume Adjustment
    • Turn on Noise Canceling
  3. If multiple people are accessing the space from the same physical room
    • One participant movesto another room (if possible)
    • Muting your microphone while the other is speaking
  4. Check your microphone/speaker
    • Use earphones instead of speakers (if possible)
    • Turn down the speaker volume
    • Place microphones and speakers farther apart (if external devices)
    • If the microphone is facing a sound-reflecting surface (such as a wall), change its orientation.
    • Unplug and plug in the USB (if it is an external device)
    • Connect to other ports (for external devices)
    • Move the microphone away from your mouth
    • Keep microphones and speakers away from other electronic devices (such as smartphones)
  5. Check each OS setting
