OS Notification Settings

If you use ovice on the desktop app or browser, you can receive OS notifications.

 

Notification types

There are the following types of OS notifications received from ovice.

  • Mention Chat (DM)
  • Call
  • Shoulder tap
  • Conversation approach (you or the other person has the microphone on and approaches within audio range)
    The following conditions must also be met for this notification to occur.
    • Don't move your avatar for 1 minute
    • You haven't received any web browser notifications in 1 minute
  • Intercom
    The following conditions must also be met for this notification to occur.
    • User authority that can receive intercom calls
  • Favorite user enters the Workspace
  •  

Things to check

If you don't receive a notification, please check the following:

If you use the desktop app

1. Desktop app status
OS notifications will be received only when the app is inactive (excluding notification badges).

2. Check  space notification permission

3. OS settings (notifications)
Please allow notifications for desktop apps.

4. OS settings (Do Not Disturb Mode)
If it is set, turn off Do Not Disturb Mode.

5. Select the notification screen
If you are using multiple monitors, make sure you select the correct monitor on which you want to display notifications.

When using a web browser

1. Browser tab status
You will only receive notifications if the tab with the video open is inactive.

2. Check  space notification permission

3.  In your web browser's settings,
click the lock icon to the left of the address bar and make sure that the notification item is set to "Allow."

4. OS settings (notifications)
Please allow notifications for the web browser you are using.

5. OS settings (Do Not Disturb Mode)
If it is set, turn off Do Not Disturb Mode.

6. Select the notification screen
If you have multiple monitors, make sure you select the correct monitor on which you want to display notifications.

 

Tips

  • If you want to change the display time of the pop-up, you can change it in the OS settings. Please check the support page of each OS.
  • Notification badges displayed on the desktop app icon are synced with Ovice's  notification center.
